Introduction to Roots & Shoots
Roots & Shoots is the flagship program of the Jane Goodall Institute China. The program aims to influence students and communities to be more environmentally conscious and animal friendly through activities and events. The Roots & Shoots China environmental education program also embodies Dr. Jane Goodall's ethos that everyone can participate and bring about positive changes.
Roots & Shoots China started in 1994, and the Roots & Shoots environmental office was formed in 2000 as a non-profit organisation. Our work consists of organizing educational events for students and teachers, training teachers, and leading R&S groups to undertake various activities with respect to environmental conservation, animal protection, or communities.
We are a fast-paced, established small organisation and every intern and volunteer will be able to receive training and guidance. Interns will have the opportunity to improve their leadership and organizational skills, understand more about the NGO sector, and contribute to environmental conservation efforts. Our friendly office environment will enable you to improve your professional capabilities and we promise you won't feel bored! You will have the chance to utilize your skills on a variety of frontline projects and reports, attend outings, and practice Chinese if you wish.
