Clear Water Wetlands Education Project Background

The Clear Water Environmental Education Project commenced in 2013 and is aimed at deepening young adolescents' understanding of wetland ecology through hands-on activities and research. We also hope that they gain an appreciation of the complex relationship between the wetlands ecosystem, the human world, and other major ecosystems such as the forests and oceans. Keeping the water cycle clean is crucial to maintaining healthy wetlands.

Student members of this R&S group work in teams of five or more members and can apply to take part in the Clear Water mapping activity. A Clear Water Map marks the key information of a certain wetland habitat, such as natural formations, distribution of animals and plants, structures built by humans, and other ecological resources. Throughout this process, R&S is present to mentor students in investigating the changes occurring in their local wetlands and the actions they can take to protect them.
